If you run a blog, a review site, a tools page or anything with visitors, you have ad space going unused. A LinkSpin zone turns that space into ad credits with a single script tag.
What a zone is
A zone is one ad slot on your site in a standard size, from a 728 by 90 leaderboard to a 160 by 600 skyscraper, nine sizes in all. You create it in the Control Room, tell LinkSpin the site it lives on, paste the tag where the ad should appear, and the banner is live.
What shows in it
Three tiers, in order. First, a LinkSpin member campaign, the same pool the on-site ad viewer serves. If none fits, a network ad, once the network tier is switched on. If nothing else, a LinkSpin house banner, which earns nothing but never leaves your slot empty.
What you earn, and when a view counts
You earn credits for viewable impressions only. The tag reports a view when at least half the banner has been on screen for one second. One credit per five viewable views of a member campaign, one per ten of a network ad. Bots never count, and views on any site other than the one you declared do not count either, so paid ads only ever appear where you said they would.
A new zone warms up first: it needs its first hundred on-site views with at least forty percent viewable before it starts earning. After that, the quality grade on your Zones screen tells you how it is doing.
Two things that trip people up
Ad blockers. If you test your own site with a blocker on, pause it first. And do not wrap the tag in an element whose class or id contains the words ad, banner or sponsor; blockers hide those.
Spend what you earn
Zone credits go straight into your balance. Spend them on a banner or text campaign of your own, and your site is now paying for your advertising.
Join free, add a zone, paste the tag. Your first credits arrive while you sleep.
